University of Texas at Austin

College Advising Corps at the University of Texas at Austin was launched in 2010-2011 with 15 college advisers serving 15 high schools in Houston, San Antonio, and the Rio Grande Valley. In 2019-2020, the program serves 23 high schools with 22 advisers in Central Texas, Dallas, El Paso, Houston and the Rio Grande Valley. In an effort to increase the number of low-income, underrepresented, and first-generation students pursuing higher education, the UT Austin program recruits, trains, and places exceptional recent college graduates from all fields of study to serve as full-time, near-peer college advisers in high schools across the state.
