Boston University

College Advising Corps at Boston University supports first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students across the city, helping them achieve their dream for postsecondary education.

The program, launched at the start of  the 2013-2014 academic year. With support from the Boston-based GreenLight Fund’s Social Innovation Fund initiative, the Boston University program recruits, hires, and intensively trains recent Boston-area college graduates to serve as college advisers in Boston Public Schools high schools.

During the 2015-2016 academic year, Boston University expanded its program to 23 advisers serving in 24 schools in the Boston area. Today, 35 near-peer advisers are serving in 32 high schools in Boston, Lynn, Malden and Somerville–including the entire Boston Public Schools district at scale.
