Dr. Nicole Hurd Named a 2014 Influencer by The Chronicle of Higher Education
“This year saw a number of high-profile efforts to open college doors to more students, and Nicole Hurd seemed to have a hand in all of them.”
– The Chronicle of Higher Education
Today, The Chronicle of Higher Education named College Advising Corps Founder and CEO Dr. Nicole Hurd as one of nine higher education influencers for 2014. The honor highlighted her involvement in the White House College Opportunity Summit, as well as College Advising Corps’ history and growth.
“This year’s academic newsmakers shook up higher education by organizing, by speaking out, by pushing limits, and sometimes just by doing their jobs,” noted The Chronicle. Dr. Hurd was chosen as The Messenger for showing thousands of students that college is a possibility.
“This is a tremendous honor,” stated Dr. Hurd. “However, this is really a team award. We have had an amazing year of growth and visibility that would not have been possible without the contribution of every adviser, university and high school partner, staff member, investor, friend, and our remarkable board. Together, we have increased opportunity for thousands of students across America. It is an honor to serve with such a dedicated team.”
