Meet Our Program Directors
We are fortunate to work with a committed, expert group of Program Directors and Coordinators around the country. Meet two of them!
Emily Chung, Program Director, University of Southern California College Advising Corps
Emily has been a key player in this past year’s initial launch of the University of Southern California College Advising Corps (USCCAC), which is a part of the USC Center for Enrollment Research, Policy & Practice. The inaugural cohort of three college advisers served three high schools and helped more than 6,600 high school students plan their college goals. In summarizing the year, Emily says that she was “impressed by my advisers’ dedication to put their students first, despite different obstacles.” In the fall of 2014, the USCCAC will expand to 16 advisers serving 16 high schools.
Ruben Watson, Program Coordinator, Michigan State University College Advising Corps
A 2007 graduate of Western Michigan University, Ruben joined the Michigan State University College Advising Corps (MSUCAC) two years ago. The MSUCAC, now in its third year of existence, consists of 24 advisers serving 34 high schools. Last year, MSUCAC advisers served 3,546 seniors and assisted students in completing nearly 5,000 college applications. Ruben describes his group of advisers as always coming up with creative ideas and focused on putting in the extra effort to achieve objectives.
