University of California, Berkeley

In 2007, the University of California, Berkeley began their Destination College Advising Corps program by placing two college advisers in two partner high schools in Solano County. The following year, Cal added a third site in Solano County and expanded to three sites in San Bernardino County. In 2009, with funding from the Doris & Donald Fisher Fund, the program expanded to 14 advisers, and Cal introduced the program into the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, Cal’s program places 47 advisers in 40 high schools in Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Solano, and San Bernardino counties.
